Columbus Juvenile Attorney
Juveniles facing criminal charges are proceeded against in the Juvenile Court of their local county. Juveniles may be charged with essentially any crime for which an adult may be charged. If found guilty, they are considered "delinquent" and subject to a wide range of penalties from fines, probation, and child service board placements, to "prison" in the Ohio Department of Youth Services.
Juveniles enjoy the same constitutional protections that adults do when facing criminal charges. There are also intricate laws that deal with juvenile delinquency matters. For these reasons, it is important that they obtain experienced counsel when appearing in court.
